“WHY NOT” and “HOW”

I am often confronted by employees, mostly managers and supervisors, who can explain “WHY NOT.”

“You have to understand . . . blah, blah, blah.”

If you accept those explanations you are condemning yourself to Einstein’s definition of insanity.

Force your managers to come to the table with answers to the question: “HOW.”

Here’s what I say, “I’m not interested in ‘WHY NOT,’ only in ‘HOW!’”

This is just the opening salvo in a test of wills between those comfortable in the status quo, “what is,” and a vision of a better future, “what can be.”

Training in problem solving and providing the resources necessary to define and implement change is the challenge and burden you will carry if you adopt this method.
